Winter Party Series

Winter Party started as an all day beach party in Miami Beach as a fundraiser. Centaur had the idea of creating a benefit album for Winter Party and produced the first Winter Party CD in 1998. The album is historic and really launched Centaur as a record label earning a Critic's Choice from Billboard Magazine and a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording with Boy George's When Will You Learn. Centaur thereby became the first indie and the first gay company to garner a Grammy Award nomination. Other artists on the first Winter Party CD included Tina Turner's only dance song On Silent Wings (featuring Sting), Peter Cox (Go West), Martha Wash, Lonnie Gordon, and Ultra Nate.

Each year, the Winter Party CD featured amazing artists and songs. These included DJs Tony Moran, Julian Marsh, Tracy Young, Warren Gluck, Manny Lehman, Lydia Prim, Roland Belmares, and Monty Q, and artists Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Gaynor, Nanci Griffith, Elton John, Kristine W, Chicane, Lulu, Lighthouse, Tiffany, Pat Hodges and one of the last #1 hits from Donna Summer.

The Winter Party CDs were marketed throughout the world and helped to raise awareness for Winter Party. The event (with Centaur's strong help), grew into one of the largest outdoor LGBT parties and fundraisers for the LGBT community.
