Born in Panama, Daphne moved to New York with her family when she was a child. A self-described ‘club kid,' her career got an early start when she began singing with an all girl group called Pajama Party, and performing with an all Latino comedy troupe called El Barrio USA at Caroline's comedy club in New York. She debuted on and off Broadway as Mimi in "RENT".
